¿Te ha molestado Noé? No debería

Darren Aronofsky ha dirigido una película muy divertida acerca de Noé , la construcción de su arca y el diluvio universal. Quizás te has divertido con la película o no, pero lo que no deberías es enfadarte.

¿Por qué no ? Aquí tienes algunas razones.

La película es una ficción y uno no tiene que molestarse por las ficciones. Por ejemplo, si eres científico sabes que nadie puede volar, por lo que seguro que no te molesta que Superman lo haga. Por definición , toda película es una ficción , así que no te enfades con Noé.

2 . El diluvio universal nunca sucedió. Es un mito precioso que, por lo que sabemos, se inventó en Mesopotamia en la Epopeya de Gilgamesh, hace más de 4.500 años.Parece que algunas ciudades de esa zona se inundaron en aquel tiempo y ese fue el origen del mito que luego muchas otras culturas han copiado. Por lo tanto, si el diluvio es una ficción no hay que enfadarse.

3 . Si el diluvio es un mito muy antiguo, Noé también debe serlo, por lo que Aronofsky puede hacer lo que quiera con el personaje. De hecho, ha creado a Noé a su imagen y semejanza: un vegano con un respeto increíble por el resto de los animales del mundo y también un pelín psicópata y borracho. Imagino que Aronofsky no comparte esas dos últimas características, pero al menos es vegano (o eso creo).

4. Así que si el diluvio universal y Noé son mitos (leyendas, mentiras o como se les quiera llamar) todo libro (religioso o no) que incluya esa historia y ese personaje es un libro ficticio. Por eso, Aronofsky se puede inventar una historia muy divertida llena de Vigilantes, que son ángeles caídos de roca que protegen a Noé de las hordas humanas que quieren colarse en el arca en cuanto empieza el diluvio. Si no te gusta la interpretación de tu libro que hace el director, lo siento por ti, pero a mí no me gustó la versión que hicieron los Coen del libro No es país para viejos y esa no es excusa para empezar una guerra religiosa contra los directores. Hay que tener un poquito de humor.

Are you upset by Noah? Don’t be

Darren Aronofsky has directed a very funny movie about Noah, the building of his ark and the great flood. You can have fun with the movie or not, but you shouldn’t be upset.
Why not? Here you have some reasons.
1. The movie is a fiction and you don’t have to be upset by fictions. If you are a scientific you know that no one can fly, so you don’t complain because Superman flies, because it’s a fiction. By definition, every movie is a fiction, so don’t be upset.

2.  The great flood never happened. It is a nice myth that, as far as we know, was invented in Mesopotamia in the Epic of Gilgamesh, more than 4.500 years ago. It looks like some cities of that area were flooded on that time and that was the origin of the myth that many other cultures have copied. If the great flood is a fiction you don’t have to be upset.
3. If the great flood is a very old myth, Noah must also be a myth, so Aronofsky can do what he wants with the character. In fact he has created Noah in his own image: a vegan with an amazing respect for the rest of animals of the world and also a little bit drunken psychopath. I guess Aronofsky doesn’t share those two last features, but at least he is a vegan.
4. So, if the great flood and Noah are myths (legends, lies, the name doesn’t matter) every book (religious or not) that includes that story and that character is a fictitious book. That’s the reason why Aronofsky can invent a very funny story full of Watchers, fallen rocky angels who protect Noah of the human hordes who wants to get into the ark when the flood begins. If you don’t like that interpretation of your book, I’m sorry for you, but I didn’t like the version that the Coen brothers  filmed of No country for old men and I don’t want to start a religious war against the directors.
