Icíar Bollaín viaja a L.A.

Hoy, la directora española Icíar Bollaín ha volado a L.A. Su misión: mostar la maravillosa También la lluvia a los miembros de la Academia para convencerles de que la peli española es un producto ideal para ser una de las cinco (o más, vaya usted a saber) películas en conseguir el Oscar a la peli en lengua no inglesa. Conocí a Icíar hace muchos años, a eso de las diez de la noche, y estaba realmente cansada. Le pedí una entrevista, pero no estaba de humor, así que me arrodillé delante de ella y le supliqué. Debió pensar que a) yo estaba totalmente loco y b) que tenía mi gracia, así que me concedió la entrevista. Espero que dentro de algunos días vuelva de nuevo a L.A. a recoger el Oscar. La peli se lo merece. Por cierto, esta es la buena película española del año y se estrena cuando sólo llevamos cinco días de 2011. Un nuevo récord.

Icíar Bollaín goes to L.A.

Today, the Spanish director Icíar Bollaín has flown to L.A. to show her wonderful movie También la lluvia to the Academic members, to convince them that the Spanish movie is a great product to be one of the five (or more, who knows) movies to get the foreign language film Oscar. I met Icíar some years ago and she was really, really tired, because it was ten o’clock in the evening. I asked her for an interview but she wasn’t  in the mood, so I knelt in front of her and beg. She thought a) that I was totally crazy and b) that I was funny, so I got my interview. I hope in some days she is to go back again to L.A. to pick up the Oscar. The movie deserves it. By the way, this is the good Spanish movie of the year, and we have found it when 2011 is only five days long. A new record.
