When Toby Jones is in a movie, who else could be the bad guy?

Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy gets us into the British Intelligence Service. One of the men in charge is really a counterspy who works for the USSR (no mistakes, the action of the movie takes place before the fall of the Wall).

Among the suspects we got John Hurt, Gary Oldman, David Dencik, Colin Firth and Toby Jones. When I see this cast, for me there is only one real suspect: Toby Jones.

Jones is like a Peter Lorre‘s reincarnation. That kind of a sinister man who is about to whistle a chilling song, just after killing a child and before shivering in front of a tough man. That’s the reason why Toby Jones was the perfect election to be Arnim Zola in Captain America: The First Avenger, and also to be the voice of Dobby, that creepy elf from Harry Potter. I know it’s supposed to be a nice elf, but it really it’s scarier than Gollum.

A note for those afraid of spoilers: I’m not saying that Toby Jones is the bad guy in Tinker Tailer Soldier Spy, only that he could be. I guess you have to watch the movie to know if I’m right.

Who do you identify with in Carnage?

Roman Polanski‘s Carnage shows four different types of human beings:

1. The supposed ecologist and pacifist one that is also a bit snobbish, played by Jodie Foster.

2. The incredibly beautiful but unremarkable and cold pro, played by Kate Winslet.

3. The boring bastard perpetually attached to the mobile, played by Christoph Waltz.

4. The typical American self-made worker without more interests than a good whiskey, played by John C. Reilly.

Who do you identify with? I must admit that I am quite similar to Jodie Foster, including the snobbish part. Or to be honest, above all the snobbihs part.
